USC 1800 College Mats
We have USC 1800 college size pole vault mats. The USC 1800 exceeds IAAF, USATF, NCAA,
NFHS size specifications and measures 18'4" (5.6m) behind the plant box. The standards are
the very sturdy USC 510 Series that can be adjusted from 8 feet up to 17 feet. Our extenders
provide additional crossbar placement points, allowing the standards to be lowered a
total of three more feet. Our base protector pads around the standards are
required by NCAA and NFHS for regulated competitions. The rubber runway is
100 feet long with additional room to expand.
Tolsma Top End Trainer
This is the patented Tolsma Top End Trainer. This was designed and patented by the highly
decorated former track coach from Liberty University, Brant Tolsma. This is able to
fine-tune the top end technique of the pole vault. It allows the vaulter to continue
focusing on the top end of the pole vault during rest days to let the legs recover.
The athletes are able to get the feeling of getting inverted while pulling through the top of the vault,
then rotate and push off the top of the pole as they pike over the bar.
The Rope Swing
The rope swings is the precursor to the Tolsma Top End trainer. The vaulter is able to learn the baby steps to
tap and swing to an inverted position similar to the vault. As the vaulter advances, they will be able to
develop the muscle core strength and the motor skills to improve their top end technique of
the pole vault.
Calisthenic Training
Calisthenics is a big part of our fitness training. Calisthenics allows for building our strength while
developing our body awareness. All these play a big part in being able to have
the strength and motor development to pole vault. We couple calisthenics with
Plyometrics and Speed Training which carry enormous dividends into the pole vault.
